June 8, 2012

Tempura is a popular appetizer served at most Japanese restaurants. Slices of vegetables and often times shrimp are fried in a light batter and served with a a dipping sauce made from a combination of soy sauce, ginger, and dashi. The video below focuses on vegetable tempura but the same technique is applicable for shrimp (so long as they have been cleaned and deveined). Serve tempura as a first course at your Japanese-inspired dinner party or just to change up your weekly meal plan.
