Question: What is your favorite Gluten Free food?

August 16, 2010
There are many naturally Gluten Free foods like fruits and veggies but I like to try to make the old school favorites like Gluten Free S'mores with specialty chocolates from Theo's - Coconut Curry Milk or Fig Fennel Dark Chocolate ... all melty with creamy marshmallow and crunchy home made GF Grahams...my face is all sticky just thinking about it!

Quinoa- it's really versatile. It can be a main course, side dish, ground into flour and is healthy and easy to prepare.

Millet is a mild-tasting grain that cooks into a creamy texture. There is some disagreement as to whether it is suitable for a gluten-free diet, although celiac.com recommends it as a gluten-free food. Try cooking it with sweet corn for a hot breakfast cereal.

My favorite gluten free ingredient is almond flour.

I've found almond flour to be one of the most interesting additions to my gluten free diet. It's been used for centuries for cakes and cookies, but I've also found out how wonderful it is for breads, crackers, pancakes and lots more.

Almond flour brands vary considerably though, depending on whether they are blanched or unblanched, and how finely they are ground.

I did a comparison of almond flour brands on my website: http://www.gluten-free-around-the-world.com/blanched-almond-flour.html And I also have some of my favorite almond flour recipes there.
