When I bought my copy of Martha Stewart’s Cookies back in September, I spent many nights browsing the book from cover to cover, trying to come up with a game-plan or schedule as to when I was going to do one recipe or the other.

I got home to Silver Spring from Tucson Saturday night. What did I do my first day home on Sunday? Start making Christmas cookies of course. This will continue for the next two weeks in my home.

My other half is a big fan of Christmas pudding and after two years in Singapore with not a pudding in sight, not that you want to eat something so heavy in the hot weather, I thought it was time to rectify the issue for this coming Christmas.

The past few weeks went by in a whirlwind. I thought and did nothing else but bake. I am delirious (no not from the rum) to have done so much in such little time, but also as tired as my oven is . Cookies, cakes and more cakes have been my routine.

Take all the peas, chillies and garlic and coarsely grind the mixture in a food processor. Now heat a little oil in a pan. Empty the mix in the pan and sauté for about 4-5 mins at a low heat until such time the peas are cooked. Add salt to taste and keep it aside.

For vegetarians, Mediterranean food is truly a delight. In my travels across the world, especially around UK and Europe, Good vegetarian food is hard to find, especially if one doesn’t want potatoes. Although I am not a vegetarian, I don’t particularly enjoy seafood and on the contrary, am an extremely happy vegetarian.

I am a huge pasta fan! I try to make pasta dishes as healthy as possible because we all know that eating too much pasta is not good for our weight.

A proper roast-chicken, turkey, lamb, pork, beef, game-should be juicy, with a snappy crust, and flavored with herbs and/or spices or simply well seasoned with salt and pepper. When fully rested, it should be brought to the table and carved. Preferably on a beat-up wooden board.

Looking for a dress for Christmas Eve is always fun. By the way, my idea of fun is BodyPump, kickboxing, and running for 11 miles at a stretch. Obviously, my fun must involve torture and special wardrobe-and sweat.

This recipe was sent to me by one of my readers and closest friends, Adelina. Adelina is the type of friend who seems like she was born in the kitchen and has long been the culinary go-to in our group of friends. When we were in college, Adelina would be whipping up scrumptious eggplant parmesean while the rest of us would pat ourselves on the back for making a box of mac and cheese.

It was a wonderful weekend. Zach planned the trip -- rented a car and found an amazing hotel - on Thursday and we zipped off on Friday. Often short notice can mean stress and confusion, but our trip to Burgundy was nothing of the sort. It was peaceful and exciting, filled with new scenery and lots of opportunities to say 'bon appetit', which in itself should constitute a good trip.

Aside from working on a Saturday, today was slightly less than eventful. We were running low on groceries, so my meals today weren't very exciting. I had some over easy eggs and toast for breakfast, whiched turned out to be pretty tasty.

Every region in India has its own unique method of preparing dishes. This dish here is inspired from Goa that is popular not only for its natural scenic beauty but also for its spicy Goan cuisine with the use of coconuts, vinegar, tamarind and red chillies.Being a spice buff, I'm quite fond of Goan dishes and was looking for an easy recipe for some time.

French toast-- it's a Sunday morning favorite in our house and after years of tinkering with egg to milk to sugar ratios, I am finally sharing "the one". I like my french toast thick with a good texture; crunchy on the outside and tender, but not soggy on the inside.

Like every great man, standing right behind him is two even greater women and Mrs Hederman (Caroline Workman & Frank’s daughter Alex) are no exception. Often the admin people when things get busy as ‘Frank is useless’ at that sort of thing, the Hederman ladies are stepping out from behind Frank`s large shadow to bring foodies their own range of delicious pies and tarts.

An interviewer recently asked me, “what’s new in your pizza & flatbread book that you didn’t already cover in “Artisan Bread…” and in “Healthy Bread…”? My answer: A lot!

Whoever said that too many cooks in the kitchen spoil the soup wasn't entirely correct.

When it comes to vegan cooking and baking, cheese substitution is one of those things that gives me a headache. I’m a bit wary of soy-based alternatives, as they seem over-processed and unnatural in comparison.
