Eid Dessert (Kleicha/ Klaicha) Iraq Origin ( Mamoul In Syria/lebanon)

Ingredients
Preparation

Pre-heat oven at 170 degree centigrade

Sift the sugar and sugar in mixing bowl

Now add butter to it and mix well to make a smooth mixture

Add water to this mixture and knead well

Keep aside for 30 minutes.

Now chop the dates and heat with butter in a separate pan till dates soft.

Make small balls of dough and fill the date filling to it.

Make kleicha/Mamoul like shape by hand or using a mould.

Bake in oven for 30-35 minutes.

Cool on tray and then serve.

Note: Spices, salt and baking powder can be added in flour during doughing, also a little quantity can added to date filling

Mamoul lover (from Syria and Lebanon) can also add orage blossom water and semolina

Ooo, these look so tasty. I love the dates and all the flavors you've used in them. I'll probably add this recipe to the list of cookies I bake for gifts this holiday season!
