Lyfe Restaurant, a sustainable and healthy fast food restaurant, was co-founded by former McDonald's CEO Mike Roberts. The restaurant is attempting to combat the unhealthy stigma that comes from fast food while using organic and free-range grain-fed meats. Roberts recently stated, "Imagine tens of millions of local, sustainable gourmet meals, served with the efficiency and economy that one expects from a national fast food chain. Such a feat of feeding has never before been attempted."
Roberts' previous experiences will hopefully pay off with Lyfe. McDonald's has attempted to reduce its carbon footprint; last year, the UAE branch of the company joined with Neutral Fuels LLC to recycle vegetable oil into biodiesel.
