The GOOD and EPIP LA are celebrating awesome efforts, which will move the city of Los Angeles forward. Winning concepts receive $2,500, to support their plans.
The Veggie Voucher program would address two important local issues. Many people in LA cannot afford fresh fruits and veggies, and plenty of farmers are struggling to make a living wage. People on food stamps would be provided with Veggie Vouchers, which would be used to buy fresh produce at local farmers markets.
"The full value of every dollar will go directly to a consumer in need of money to afford a healthy diet AND to a local California farmer bringing fresh food into an urban community".
