The Huffington Post reports that Bernie Madoff's wine collection is to be auctioned off on May 18. His collection includes:
* a case of 1996 Chateau Mouton-Rothschild ($3,200-$3,800)
* six bottle of 1990 Chateau Beychevelle ($350-$480)
* one bottle of 1964 Chateau Cheval Blanc ($500-$750)
* six bottles of 1997 Antinori Tignanello ($850-$1,200)
While certain bottles wouldn't typically "pass muster" for a Morell auction (Morell is the auction house hosting the event), but these are included for their relevancy as conversation pieces rather than for their quality of wine. The total estimated value of the collection is around $15,000, and proceeds will be donated to Madoff's victims as part of a "general recovery effort".
