Kesha: I'll Help Fund McDonald's Slaughterhouse Makeover

October 15, 2011

Kesha (sorry, Ke$ha) recently wrote a letter to Jim Skinner, the chief executive officer of McDonald's, that offers to help fund a McDonald's slaughterhouse makeover. The pop star, who wrote on behalf of PETA, said that she felt ill upon realizing that McDonald's is "spending more than a billion dollars on store renovations but won't invest a dime to upgrade its suppliers' archaic slaugherhouses."

Kesha challenged the fast food corporation even further, adding, "If the cost is what troubles you -- despite the fact that your profits are way up because everyone eats cheap during a recession -- let's talk. I may not have the money that the Golden Arches has to throw around, but I'd be glad to lend a hand in helping bring your suppliers' slaughter practices into the 21st century."

Kesha isn't the only musician to support PETA. She joins a lengthy list of celebrity endorsers, including Paul McCartney, Carrie Underwood, Joan Jett, Shirley Manson, Sean Kingston and Tommy Lee. What do you think of the "Tik Tok" singer's letter?

You idiots, Carrie Underwood DOES NOT support Peta! Just because she is a vegan does not mean she supports Peta! In fact, Carrie has said in the past that she disagrees with some of Peta's extreme measures and she would never take a political postion on that subject. I don't know why people keep saying that she does, because she has said repeatedly that she DOES NOT! Her own father raised cattle for slaughter, and Carrie said she did not have a problem with it because it helped pay for her education! Plus, her husband Mike Fisher hunts and she has no problem with that. Carrie has never supported Peta.

Sorry but what proof do you have that Carrie Underwood "supports" PETA? Is there a link? Carrie does not support, endorse or get paid by PETA. Please do your homework before you post something that is not true.
Sincerely - A Carrie fan :-)

How many times does it have to be said that Carrie Underwood does NOT support PETA? She has never been directly involved with them, nor has she authorized them to use her image. There was a big article a few years ago about PETA using images of Michelle Obama, Carrie Underwood, and Tyra Banks. Note that these images were used illegally.

People assume Carrie supports PETA because was named "PETA's Sexiest Vegetarian" a few years back. Just because the company uses her for the fact that she is a vegetarian doesn't mean she supports them. Please get your facts straight.

Carrie is an animal lover who is more than happy to endorse charities she stands behind; she doesn't appear to support these hypocritical, loony "animal lovers" that condone abuse practices.

FYI: Carrie Underwood does not endorse PETA though she supports the humane treatment of animals. Here is what she has said about PETA.

"[Question] 15. How can you be associated with PETA since you grew up in rural Oklahoma? They do not like livestock shows, rodeos, hunting and fishing. These are the activities that define us as Oklahomans.

That's a good question. I don't think those things define us as Oklahomans. I think that the way that we are in our personality and in the morals that we have, I think that defines us Oklahomans. Livestock is definitely a big deal in Oklahoma. A lot of my friends were in FFA and stuff like that growing up. ... I just choose not to eat animals. That's it. I'm not really associated with PETA. If they're doing a spay-or-neuter campaign, I'm all for it. I'm not really for so many radical things. I think there's just an easier way. I don't preach to others about it. This is just the way I am. If you were sitting there next to me, eating a steak right now, I wouldn't say anything about it because that's your choice, just like it's my choice not to eat it."

Clearly we have struck a chord regarding Carrie Underwood and PETA. From the PETA.org website:
