Will Peru Be The Next Big Wine Country?

May 1, 2012

The head winemaker for Chilean winery Cono Sur, Adolfo Hurtado, has his sites set on Peru. As detailed in an article in the drinks business, Hurtado has been scouting land for vineyards. What makes Peru so appealing? "Peru has no frost and in many parts is desert-like and dry, the same as northern Chile," Hurtado tells the drinks business. "It’s such an interesting country with great winemaking potential.”

Have you tried any wines from Peru? (Note: there will not be vineyards at Macchu Picchu.)
