Mother Hart's Frozen Peach Dessert

Ingredients

6 tablespoons butter
2 cups fine vanilla wafer crumbs
3/4 cup soft butter
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
3 ounces cream cheese
3 tablespoons granulated sugar

Preparation

Pat and press the 6 tablespoons of butter and the vanilla wafer crumbs into a 9"x13" pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 15 minutes. Cool.

Cream together the 3/4 cup of butter and the powdered sugar, then blend in the eggs. Spread this mixture over the crumb crust.

Peel and slice 10 peaches and sweeten with 1/4 cup granulated sugar. Place over the butter mixture.

Soften the cream cheese. Whip the heavy cream and sweeten with 2-3 tablespoons of granulated sugar. Add the cream cheese. Spread on the peaches. Freeze for several hours.

Remove from freezer about 1/2 an hour before serving.
