Homemade Garlic & Cheese Croutons

Ingredients

4- 6 inch sub rolls, cubed
olive oil
approx. 1 Tbsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup grated pecorino
a handful of fresh chopped parsley

Preparation

Preheat your oven to 385 degrees.

Place the cubed bread onto a large baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil, the garlic powder and salt. Arrange the bread in a single layer and pop into the oven.

Bake for about 15-18 minutes until the bread is golden and dried out.

Take the pan out of the oven, give an additional drizzle of olive oil and toss the cheese and parsley with the tossed croutons. Pop back into the oven for 5-8 minutes.

Go ahead and give one a taste, add any additional garlic, salt or cheese as needed while they are still nice and hot.

Allow to cool on the pan.

I don’t know what it is but we always seem to have an abundance of bread in the house, maybe its an Italian thing. The only problem is that we never seem to use it all in its prime so what do I do with leftover bread?? Homemade Garlic & Cheese Croutons of course! I have a few really big pet peeves in the kitchen and throwing away food of any kind is a huge one for me, I hate wasting anything! Whether its a ciabatta, French baguette, Italian loaf or what I used here, 6 inch sub rolls… make croutons!! A few ingredients and you can make some fabulously tasty and inexpensive croutons!
