Butter a heavy 10" oven-proof skillet. Preheat oven to 450. Beat the eggs with a whisk to blend. Slowly add flour; beat well. Stir in salt and milk. Pour batter into skillet and drop the butter by teaspoonful into the batter, spreading evenly. Bake at 450 for 15 minutes-reduce heat to 350 and bake another 10 minutes. Remove from oven and sift powdered sugar over the top. Serve with heated maple syrup.
