Candied Yams

Ingredients

2 cups sugar
1/2 cup white Karo syrup
1 teaspoon red food coloring
1 teaspoon yellow food coloring

Preparation

Wash and peel sweet potatoes. Cover with water and bring to boil. Cook for 3 minutes. Drain off most of water.

Add other ingredients and cook until thick and syrupy.

No fall or winter holiday celebration is complete without candied yams! Leave out the food coloring if you like. Some people also top the yams with mini-marshmallows.
