Cauliflower Fritters- "Mshat"

Ingredients
Ingredients:
1 medium cauliflower, cut into 15 florets
5 cups water
1 tablespoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1 batter batch
Batter ingredients:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dry yeast

Directions for preparing cauliflower florets:

Bring water to a boil. Add salt and cauliflower florets, and wait until it boils again. Remove them from heat, cover, and let them rest in the water for 5 minutes. Drain the cauliflower florets from the water. In a small bowl mix together all the spices and sprinkle over the cauliflower florets. Set aside.

Dunk the florets in batter, covering each floret completely, and fry in 350*F preheated oil until golden brown, approximately 3 minutes.

Cauliflower is available year around, but is especially plentiful in spring and fall. This veggie is a member of the cabbage family and the name cauliflower means "cabbage flower".
Raw and cooked cauliflower is a good source of protein, Magnesium, dietary fiber, vitamin C, vitamin K, vitamin B6, and foliate. Cauliflower contains important substances that may reduce your risk of some types of cancer.
Cauliflower fritters, MSHAT, are just another way to enjoy this delicious, flavor delicate veggie, and maybe a good way to feed your children veggies if they are not so fond of them. After all, everybody just loves fried food, although is not so good for us.
