Whole Wheat Machine Bread

Ingredients

500 grams Whole Wheat flour (finely ground)
290 grams water
20 grams Brown Sugar
14 grams Salt
2 tablespoons Oil Canola
10 grams Milk Powder (as coffee creamer)
10 grams Dried Yeast

Preparation

Into Machine pan- add 200 gm. Whole Wheat flour.

Add water.

Add sugar, salt, oil.

Add remaining 300 gms. flour.

Add yeast and milk powder.

Set machine to "French bread, Light crust".

Machine time- 3 hrs, 50 minutes

About

The original recipe added the water first, followed by the 500 gms. flour.
However, in time, the paddle axis leaked. Putting some flour in first prevented loss of water.
These amounts came after many trials, when the recipe book that came with the machine gave a much smaller loaf. Flour- critical, the present flour supplier is a local cheap whole wheat, whereas a more expensive Whole Wheat flour gave poor results

I use local tap water, which is a hard water. Past trials with spring water did not yield different results.
