Plain Pound Cake Recipe

Ingredients
230 grams plain flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
220 grams unsalted butter
180 grams castor sugar
4 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
lemon/orange zest (optional)
Preparation

Preheat oven to 180 degrees C

Line and grease a 9x5x3 inch (23x13x8cm) loaf pan

Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well at each addition

Pour the batter into the pan and smooth the top

Storing it in the fridge will rob it of its moisture, so store it in a container at room temperature
