For the Donut:
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon vanilla
1 piece egg
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup flour
3 tablespoons Coco Treasure Organics Coconut Sugar
3 tablespoons Coco Treasure Organics Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
6 tablespoons milk
Preparation
1
For the Donut:
2
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
3
Prepare a donut pan by spraying cooking spray.
4
Combine the salt, baking powder, baking flour, and sugar in a large bowl.
5
In a separate bowl, mix the eggs, vanilla, oil, and milk until smooth. Slowly stir in the dry ingredients and mix well.
6
Get a piping bag and transfer the batter. If a piping bag is not available, you can use a Ziploc bag and cut one corner.
7
Pipe the batter into the pan, making sure each hole is 2/3 full.
8
Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool before transferring to a wire rack.
9
For the Base Icing:
10
Place the candy melts in two separate bowls along with the vegetable shortening. Let them melt in the microwave for at least minutes. For best results, stir every 30 seconds.
11
Transfer the melted chocolates in a shallow dish that fits the donuts. Dip each donut into the chocolate for a few seconds.
12
Place on a cooling rack to cool.
13
For the Royal Icing:
14
In another mixing bowl, combine the meringue powder, powdered sugar, water, and food coloring. Use an electric mixer to achieve a matte appearance.
15
Divide the icing into two and place them in separate bowls. Add a few drops of the pink and red food coloring.
16
Decorate your donuts as desired.
17
Arrange in fancy boxes and surprise your Valentine with these donuts.
