Store soft cookies in a container that is not completely airtight, such as a cookie jar. Use waxed paper between the cookies to keep them from sticking together. Place a piece of fresh bread in the cookie jar and the cookies will absorb the moisture from the bread.

Home baked cookies should be allowed to thoroughly cool, then packed between sheets of waxed paper in an air tight container.
