Deborah Chud

I'm a physician and food writer, but I think of myself as a healthy food strategist. I've spent my entire adult life developing ways to make conventional food healthier and healthy food taste better. I inherited my passion for food from my paternal grandmother--a professional chef and caterer, who opened her own restaurant on Miami Beach in 1936. My father, her son, was a gifted amateur chef, and our house was full of great smells, tastes, and intense talk about food. My cookbook, The Gourmet Prescription, was published in 1996. I am currently food columnist for Radius Magazine, a national lifestyle quarterly devoted to health and wellness that circulates to physicians and waiting rooms throughout the country.

When I'm not thinking about food, I'm usually thinking about classical music. I'm a cellist and pianist, as well as a non-stop listener.
