A day at the farmers’ market really puts a spring in our step. Our senses feasted on delicious breads, fresh seafood, and local and organic produce. This weekend, we spotted some radishes, sugar snap peas, sweet onions, and cauliflower from local farms. Asparagus, beets, and cabbages are still very much in season. We also spied on beautiful fresh flowers that are not only lovely to look at, but also make a great addition to the dinner table. Keep your eyes peeled for peppery arugula blossoms, sweet squash blossoms, or spicy broccoli rabe, they are simply delicious! Here are some farmers’ markets to visit this week:

Northeast

In New York, Prospect Hill Orchards will be bringing in sweet cherries and apples at the Tribeca Farmers Market. The market opens Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8am to 3pm.

In Massachusetts, the Amherst Farmers Market will soon be moving outside, but you can still get your fresh vegetables and fruits at their indoor market until April 16. The market opens Saturdays from 10am to 2 pm.

Southeast

In Georgia, Mainstreet Statesboro Farmers Market has finally returned with the bounty of spring. Get your fresh salad greens, carrots and strawberries here.  The market opens Saturdays from 9am to 1230pm.

In South Carolina, heirloom tomatoes, pattypan squash, and lettuce are just some of the produce to look forward to at the Charleston Farmers Market. The market opens Saturdays from 8am to 2pm.

Northwest

In Oregon, Grateful Harvest brings in fresh organic asparagus, artichokes and beets at Lane County Farmers Market.  The market opens Saturdays from 9am to 4pm.

In Washington, you can get your russet potatoes, radishes, and salad greens from Boistfort Valley Farm.  They will be at Olympia Farmers Market every Thursday to Sundays from 10am to 3pm.

Midwest

In Kansas, Downtown Lawrence Farmers Market opened yesterday. Market staples like fresh tomatoes, lettuce, spinach and salad greens were a welcome sight. The market opens Saturdays from 7am to 11am, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4pm to 6pm.

In Michigan, Cinzori Farms brings green garlic, radishes, baby greens, and pea shoots to the Royal Oak Farmers Market . The market opens from Saturdays from 7am to 1 pm or Sundays 8am to 3 pm.

Southwest

In California, Sage Mountain Farm brings broccoli, lettuce, and other fresh fruits and vegetables at Hillcrest Farmers Market.  The market opens Sundays from 9am to 2 pm.

In Arizona, delicious tomatoes, salad greens and fresh fruits can be found at Ahwatukee Farmers Market.  The market opens Sundays from 9am to 1pm.
