King Mackerel

About
King mackerel, also called Couta, is a migratory species of mackerel that can grow to over 40 pounds in the warm coastal waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic. It is a medium sized fish covered wtih small scales, with olive coloring on the back that fades to silver on the sides and white on the underbelly. It is popular as both a food and game fish. It has a high content and is best prepared by broiling, frying, baking, or smoking.
