Dakota Meyer arrived into Washington DC one night early. So he thought of who he could grab a beer with and decided on the President of the United States.
Meyer will be awarded the Medal of Honor today (only the third living person to receive the award since Vietnam) for his heroic actions in Afghanistan. He saved 36 people, including 13 American soldiers and 26 Afghani troops, during an ambush. He single-handedly killed 8 insurgents despite being wounded himself.
Meyer told some aides over the weekend that he wanted to grab a beer with the President and Obama quickly said yes. They enjoyed a cold beer in the Rose Garden. No word on what they drank.
