The Bank of Montreal (BMO) has just conducted their annual survey of Canadian spending habits and it turns out that Canadians are spending more money on coffee shops and restaurants.
The bank's survey showed where Canadians spent their disposable income this summer as compared to summer 2010. There has been an increase in eating out overall, with dinners topping the list and lunches following in a close second. Morning coffees and tea came in at third with transportation and after work socializing rounding off the list.
BMO's suggestion to Canadians to help save a little more money include brown bag lunches, brewing morning coffees at home and building on culinary skills.
