Traditional Apple Tart
Ingredients
500 grams 1lb 2oz short crust pastry – ready made if you want
1 1/2 pounds 3 cooking apples such as Bramley or Granny Smiths
4 tablespoons blackcurrant jam
80 grams 3oz unsalted butter

For the tart, roll out the pastry on a lightly floured surface to make a 30cm/12in and leave to rest in the fridge for ten minutes.

Preheat the oven to 220C/425F/Gas 7.

Return to the oven and bake for a further 8-10 minutes, or until the apples are golden-brown. Remove from the oven and leave to rest for ten minutes.
