Ingredients
1 kilogram
red onions
50 grams
butter
50 grams
brown sugar
100 milliliters
sherry
vinegar
(or
balsamic vinegar)
Preparation

Cut
the onions in half, and
slice
thinly.

Melt
the butter in a pan and add the onions and the sugar.

Salt
and pepper to
taste.

Simmer
on a low
heat
for about 40 min.
5
Add the vinegar and
simmer
for a further 30 min.
6
Set aside to
cool,
store
in glass jars for up to 3 months.
