Outspoken celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is under fire from animal activists after eating a snake heart while filming his new television series Gordon's Great Escape. The episode will depict Ramsay in a Vietnamese snake restaurant eating a still-beating snake heart, according to Metro. Ramsay said of the stunt, "The thought of eating that turns my stomach."
Animal-rights group Animal Aid is speaking out against the episode. Andrew Tyler, the director of the group, said, "It's an awful and vicious thing to do with an animal and Gordon Ramsay is complicit in it."
Gordon's Great Escape begins airing on Monday in the U.K.; the show aims to depict Asian food rituals and meal sourcing.
