Congressman Ron Paul, the most outspoken member of Congress is getting involved with the battle to save raw milk. He is outraged that the government is spending tax dollars to prosecute farmers for selling unpasteurized milk. Senator Paul points out that many people have done their own research and decided that the raw milk is a healthier choice. He goes onto say that if it is regulated it should be at the state not federal level. Congressman Paul has introduced Unpasteurized milk Bill, 1830. This bill allows the shipment and distribution of raw milk across state lines for the purpose of human consumption. Photos: Mookstuart and Brielgrandfromage

To clarify, Ron Paul is a Congressman, not a Senator. His son Rand is a U.S. Senator in Kentucky.

I used to drink raw milk all the time. Went out to the farm with a gallon jug, the farmer filled it up, I handed him $1.25 or $1.50 and he sent me on my way. Don't know if it was healthy or not, but it certainly didn't seem to hurt. And it should be my choice. Just one more thing that the government thinks they know what is best for us. Just one more lost freedom.

I agree with Steve M. It should be and needs to be MY Choice not the governments. Doesn't the government have other issues to solve--like the financial crisis?

We have the right to poison ourselves legally with alcohol and cigarettes, let me make my own food choices too.
