Expired Food Given To Prisons

The Massachusetts State Department of Education has donated thousands of cases of expired frozen foods to state prisons and county jails. More than 11,000 cases of food were removed from school warehouses and given to prison kitchens "free of charge." Health officials say expired foods can be safe if properly stored or frozen, but will lose taste and nutritional value.
