About
Medlar, an unusual apple-like fruit, which requires bletting to eat. It's important to note that there are two fruits referred to as medlars, the European Medlar (Mespilus germanica), which looks like large brown rose hips of sorts and requires bletting, that is softening after a frost, and the Japanese Loquat (Eriobotrya japonica), which looks like yellow-orange ping pong ball and is at home to warmer climates.
