About
Asparagine is not an essential amino acid. Asparagine is produced when sugars react to heat, for example: baked goods, potato chips and roasted coffee. Asparagus contains the highest amount of asparagine, where the name comes from. Other foods that contain asparagine include: dairy, whey, beef, poultry, eggs, fish, lactalbumin, seafood, potatoes, legumes, nuts, seeds, soy and whole grains.
