eat local for thanksgiving
The Eat Local for Thanksgiving campaign was created by Cascade Harvest Coalition to shine a public spotlight on the connections that buying locally has to the environment, use of fossil fuels and energy, supporting our local community, and helping keep our local farmers farming.
One person makes one pledge to add one local food to their Thanksgiving meal. While you might think that one butternut squash isn't going to make a huge difference, think again. The power of one action multiplied many times over makes more than a difference. The humble butternut squash becomes an agent for change and you become a local food hero.
Wherever you are, in whatever part of the country, take the pledge and Eat Local for Thanksgiving . Savor what is abundant in your region and support the benefits that come with eating locally. It's easy, it's delicious, and you're standing up for farmers, and a healthier economy and environment.
