Yogurt Dipped Strawberries and Other Strawberry Dessert Recipes

Strawberries are a romantic red food that are perfect for serving on Valentine's Day.  Whether dressed simply with chocolate or combined with other ingredients in a cake or pie, there is no denying that they are delicious in desserts.  These simple strawberry desserts can be made at the drop of a hat but still look beautiful nonetheless.

Yogurt Filled Strawberries

Ingredients:

12 large strawberries
1 container (5.3 oz) Yoplait® Greek tangerine yogurt
Miniature semisweet chocolate chips, if desired
Grated orange peel, if desired

Directions:

Step 1: Wash and pat strawberries dry. Using small melon baller, scoop out green top of each strawberry.

Step 2: Spoon yogurt into center of each strawberry. Sprinkle with miniature chocolate chips and/or orange peel. 3 Serve immediately, or refrigerate up to 2 hours before serving.

Strawberry Yogurt Shortcakes

Ingredients:

2 1/3 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
3 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
3 containers (6 oz each) Yoplait® Original 99% Fat Free strawberry yogurt (2 cups)
1 quart (4 cups) strawberries, sliced

Directions:

Step 1: Heat oven to 450°F. In medium bowl, stir Bisquick mix, sugar, butter and 1/2 cup of the yogurt until soft dough forms. Turn dough onto surface lightly dusted with Bisquick mix; gently roll in Bisquick mix to coat. Shape dough into ball; knead 8 to 10 times.

Step 2: Roll dough 1/2 inch thick. Cut with floured 3-inch cutter. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. 3 Split shortcakes. Spoon strawberries and remaining yogurt between halves of shortcakes and over tops.

Frozen Yogurt Dipped Strawberries

Ingredients:

12 large strawberries with stems 1
container (6 oz) Yoplait® Original 99% Fat Free yogurt (any flavor) or Yoplait® Greek yogurt (any flavor)
2 tablespoons miniature semisweet chocolate chips or chocolate candy sprinkles

Directions:

Step 1: Cover cookie sheet with waxed paper. Hold each strawberry by stem and dip three-fourths of the way into yogurt, leaving top of strawberry and stem uncoated. Place on cookie sheet. Freeze 30 minutes to set first layer. Dip strawberries again in remaining yogurt for thicker coating.

Step 2: Sprinkle chocolate chips over yogurt-dipped strawberries, using small spoon. Refrigerate uncovered about 2 hours before serving. Store any remaining strawberries tightly covered in freezer, and serve within 1 week.
