10 Best Food Films to Watch During the Holidays

Choosing our favorite films is like choosing our favorite foods! There are so many good one it's hard to decide. But, we managed to put together a list of 10 fabulous food films that we would watch (and have!) more than once. All are available for streaming, so queue them up and enjoy the holiday season.


Today's Special
A food comedy with legendary actress and chef Madhur Jaffrey and Aasif Madvi.


Eat Drink Man Woman
One of our all-time favorites about an accomplished chef and his three daughters.


Mostly Martha
Watch both the original German version (titled Bella Martha) from 2001 and the US version (2007) with Catherine Zeta-Jones, Aaron Eckhart and Abigail Breslin. Both are wonderful!


Jiro Dreams of Sushi
You'd never expect to find a Michelin starred restaurant to be located in the bowels of the Tokyo subway. This amazing documentary chronicles the life of 85-year-old sushi master Jiro Ono and his son and heir, Yoshikazu.


Big Night 
Pour yourself a big glass of Chianti and be prepared to dance, laugh and drool in this classic film starring Tony Shalhoub, Stanley Tucci, Marc Anthony and Minnie Driver.


El Bulli: Cooking in Progress
Fans of molecular gastronomy and avant-garde cuisine will find this documentary about renowned Spanish chef Ferran Adriá simply riveting!


Ratatouille
A culinary genius, who happens to be a rat, dreams of becoming a chef at a famous Paris restaurant. The whole family will love this feel-good film!


Like Water For Chocolate
Based on the beautifully written novel by Laura Esquivel, this period piece takes place in Mexico in 1910. It's a story of family tradition, love, food and magic!


Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory 
A family classic the whole family will love year after year!
