 
  
      Italy meets the American grill in this scrumptious burger recipe from Deb's Perfect Bite. Her La Bella Burger - a combination of half ground turkey and half turkey sausage - is packed with herbs, mozzarella and pesto sauce then sandwiched between a sourdough roll. Garnish with tomatoes and fresh spinach for a splash of Italian color. Indeed, this is one beautiful burger!
La Bella Burger

Burgers:
	1 pound ground turkey
	1 pound sweet Italian turkey sausage (usually found in links)
	1 egg
	1 tablespoon fresh garlic
	1 tablespoon finely chopped dry oregano
	1 cup finely chopped fresh basil (divided – use 1 tbsp for meat mixture)
	1 tablespoon finely chopped dry thyme
	1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh rosemary
	1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
	1 teaspoon salt
	1/2 pepper
	8 ounces of fresh mozzarella
	1 inch sliced red bell pepper (¼ thick)
	1 cup spinach leaves (remove stems)
	4 sourdough baker’s roll
	Pesto Sauce:
	finely chopped fresh basil (remaining cup)
	4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
	2 tablespoons pine nuts – toasted
	1 tablespoon mayonnaise
	1/4 teaspoon salt
	a pinch of black pepper
