Homemade Pumpkin Butter

Homemade pumpkin butter is no match for the store bought brand.  Unlike what the name suggests, fruits butters contain no butter at all.  It is actually a puree that is cooked with sugar and spices until it has reduced and become thick.  Pumpkin puree is perfect with your morning toast, delicious as a pie filling, or mixed with cream cheese to make frosting. 

Pumpkin Butter

1 cup Brown Sugar (packed)
1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon  Pumpkin Pie Spice
 
Directions:
 
Simmer all items in a pot until most of the liquid has evaporated and the pumpkin butter has thickened. Store in a sealable plastic container in the fridge and enjoy.
