Actress Lisa Edelstein has joined PETA to promote a meat-free diet. Edelstein has been a vegetarian for 28 years and has even dabbled with a vegan diet. To show her support for animals, the actress went nude in a new advertisement for PETA.
"A vegetarian diet is a really important part of what we need to do to help the environment," Edelstein said. "The meat industry is really toxic to the environment. The cattle industry -- besides the fact that there's a lot of cruel things happening --- the manure is extremely toxic."
