We are in day two of the 12 Days of Holiday Cookies. These candy cane pinwheels from Piece of Cake are festive cookies that everyone from the youngest child to your grandmother would enjoy. Never mind buying the pre-made pinwheel cookie dough and make these instead. I guarantee that they will be more fun to bake and taste great.
Candy Cane Pinwheels
Recipe from Piece of Cake
Ingredients:
3 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
14 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon peppermint extract
1/2 cup peppermint candy, finely ground (about 20 striped round ones)
6 drops (or so) red food coloring
