Urbanspoon Reservations Increase 325 Percent

November 1, 2011

Seattle-based restaurant recommender Urbanspoon reports a 325 percent increase in their reservation booking service, Rezbook, from January 2011. The news suggests the company may finally be gaining ground in their aim to successfully compete against rival OpenTable.

More than 1,000 restaurants have signed up for Rezbook, compared to 12,000 for OpenTable. That said, Urbanspoon launched Rezbook in May 2010 while OpenTable first launched 12 years ago.

Urbanspoon officials say the company now averages 25 million monthly visits and says its apps have been downloaded 20 million times.
