Raw Milk Freedom Riders

October 20, 2011

The Raw MIlk Freedom Riders are a group of moms from across the country. They are joining forces for a freedom ride and protest over the right to transport raw milk across state lines.

The mobile moms will head to Pennsivlyania and buy raw milk, then they'll drive it over to Maryland where raw milk is illegal. Once in Maryland, the moms will stage a peaceful protest in front of the FDA headquarters.

"It is absolutely ridiculous that the FDA is spending time, energy and money on turning mothers into criminals over milk," says Liz Reitzig, co-founder of the Farm Food Freedom Coalition (FFFC), which is responsible for the event, and co-coordinator of Grassfed on the Hill buying club in Washington DC.
