Dried pears are a tasty snack that your kids will love! I make these quite a bit, due to having a pear tree in the yard. Sometimes, after a long day, it is easier to dry them, than have to put the pears up into jars.
Honestly, the kids seem to enjoy dried fruit the most, so its a win-win for everyone. Enjoy!
Dried Pears
4 pounds of pears
1. Wash, peel and core pears. Cut into 1/4 inch slices.
2. Dip into a solution of lemon juice and water to prevent browning if desired.
3. Place slices onto dehydrator trays and dry for at least 12 - 18 hours, at 135 degrees, or until leathery.
Store in an airtight container. I like to place mine in small glass jars in the pantry, so that wayward snackers can finish off a jar fairly quickly.
