The Roadkill Cookoff Features Flattened Fare

September 18, 2011

West Virginia's annual Roadkill Cookoff and Autumn Harvest Festival is one of the wackiest food events in the country. The bulk of the festival takes place on Sept. 24, 2011, and features a Possum Trot 5K run/walk, the introduction of Ms. West Virginia Roadkill, an arts and crafts show, a roadkill recipe tasting, games, live music and a rodeo.

The Roadkill Cookoff reminds me of the episode of "The Wild Within" in which Steven Rinella cooks up a just-hit racoon in San Francisco. Would you ever eat roadkill?
