I know, Red White & Blue treats seem incredibly out of season, right? Well today, in 1814, Francis Scott Key penned the poem originally titled "The Defence of Fort McHenry" which would be set to music in the early 20th century, coined "The Star Spangled Banner" in 1916 and be named the American national anthem by President Woodrow Wilson in 1931.
