The last of the Harry Potter movies is now showing in theaters worldwide. It is a bittersweet time as the book-turned-movie series which has been a big part of more than a decade in every Potter fan’s life now comes to an end. Kids and grown-ups alike express their support in various ways. Just like any other Hogwarts-enthusiast, local author Dinah Bucholz shows hers in a not-like-any-other way, by writing The Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook.
The Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook chronicles Harry Potter’s seven-year stay at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in a series of recipes carefully fished out by Miss Bucholz from the seven Harry Potter books. Some of the featured recipes include that of Treacle Tart, a favorite treat of Harry himself and Crumpets, which are yeast dough pancakes.
The recipe book also contains other tips and trivia for English cuisine preparation. Some of these fun facts include the history of sugar biscuits and tea. The portion of the book where each recipe appears is also indicated, making it easy for those who have not read the book series to relate to it. It also tells which character cooks or likes the dish or drink. Indeed, The Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook is indeed a very creative way to remember the story of the Boy Who Lived, who has touched the lives of people of all ages and walks of life in the world of witches and wizards and here in the muggle world.
