Nick Sayers has a mathematical mind; this geometric coffee stirrer sculpture stitches 630 coffee stirrers together with 1,260 toothpicks. The round sculpture features 12 "blobs" that extend out like a dodecahedron's faces would.
Nick Sayers' creation was profiled by George Hart as a part of the Museum of Mathematics' Math Monday column on Make. Hart writes that each of the "blobs" are inspired by half an icosidodecahedron. Check out full images of Sayers' craftsmanship below:
