Craft Beer Takes Over Washington D.C.

May 31, 2011

Savor is returning to Washington, D.C. for its fourth year of spreading American craft beer love in the Capital. June 3-4, 72 craft breweries from 32 states will pour their beers (using proper, full-sized glassware!) at the sold-out event.

A big draw is the unveiling of a collaboration beer from Sam Calagione of Dogfish Head and Jim Koch of Sam Adams. The limited edition brew is called Savor Flowers and will be available only at Savor. Calagione and Koch brewed with rosewater and flavored the beer with a tincture including lavender, hibiscus, jasmine and rosebuds. An experimental hop variety known for its floral aromas was used, and the beer was aged in barrel. Both Calagione and Koch will be pouring Savor Flowers at their booths, and lucky event-goers will be taking a bottle home as a parting gift.
