As America crawls out of the recession, more consumers are planning to spend money on alcohol this year. According to a poll from AlixPartners, 87% of respondents plan to spend the same or more this year, up from 70% of respondents last year. This is good news for the drinks industry, which has struggled in an economic climate that sees alcohol as a luxury.
