Bay Valley Foods, LLC has issued a recall of 188,181 pounds of Walmart's Great Value Reduced Sodium Chicken Noodle Condensed Soup from 36 states and Puerto Rico because the cans may contain Cream of Chicken Soup, which uses cows’ milk in its base.
The recalled product, Walmart Great Value Reduced Sodium Chicken Noodle Soup, comes in 10.5 ounce cans bearing the UPC Code 78742 02083 and is marked with a "Best by" date code of "Best By 09 29 12" that can be found on the bottom of each can. Each can bottom also bears the establishment number "P-51".
In a recent press release, Walmart said the soup was sent to stores in Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled Great Value Low Sodium Chicken Noodle Soup may return it to a Walmart store for a full refund. Consumers concerned about an allergic reaction are urged to talk to their health-care providers. Call Bay Valley at (800) 983-0823 for more information.
