5 Creepy Cakes

May 2, 2011

Earlier this month, a series of blog posts referenced a cake with a frighteningly close appearance to young infant. After days of searching, that cake has been found. Below are a list of five cakes that push the boundaries of taste. Keep in mind they are all cakes, but you've been warned.

5. Young Baby Cake: There isn't much context to this one, but somebody decided to make a cake that looked like a tiny infant for Coleen. Warning: the video is somewhat alarming.

4. Severed Pig's Head: The creator of this cake was paying homage to a brother who loves to hunt. The cake consists of "Chocolate fudge Gateau, pettinice and hand painted with food colouring and alcohol. Blood is flan gel with red food coloring."

3. Zombie Cake: Since zombies appear to be enjoying a renewed wave of popularity, it only makes sense that a cake paying tribute to them would follow. Flickr user "Wild Cakes" describes this as "Rob the Zombie" cake. As you can see from the finished product below, his heart is exposed and he appears to lack eyes. Quite impressive.

2. Halloween Cake: Perfect for your next celebration in October. As you can see from the example cake below, bakers can play around with all our favorite Halloween images. This particular cake shows the evil grin of a Jack-O-Lantern. Quite eerie. The perfect end to a night of Trick-or-Treating.

1. Casket Cake: Not really sure what the proper occasion would be for this type of cake. As you can see in the inscription below, the cake below was designed for someone's birthday. How would you feel receiving this for your birthday?
