Sandra Lee Defends Semi Homemade Tactics

Most people know Sandra Lee from her Food Network shows, Semi-Homemade Cooking and Sandra's Money Saving Meals. Although her niche is quick, easy and inexpensive dishes, she receives plenty of backlash for using canned and boxed products.

In a recent interview, Lee addressed the controversy:

"I think everyone needs to lighten up. Our job is to serve the overextended homemakers, our job is to make their life better. The food world is something I know, and something I know top to bottom. People think I just know how to open a box or can. For the food purist, that's bad, and from homemakers, that's applauded."

I take great pride in offering solutions in making life better. The day I'm not making life better is the day I need to retire."

Considering she's penned 23 cookbooks, Sandra knows her way around the kitchen - no matter what ingredients she's using.
