Sheri Wetherell

Hello! I'm the co-founder and CEO of Foodista.com, and creator of the International Food Blogger Conference (IFBC). I grew up surrounded by food on both sides of my family. My paternal grandmother owned a diner for many years, and my maternal grandmother (and mother of five daughters) was always found in the kitchen baking or whipping up garden-fresh tomato juice. My mother instilled in me the importance of healthy, wholesome eating and fed the entire family homemade soups, breads, and fresh carrot juice. Through my grandmothers, mother, and numerous travels overseas, I developed my love of food. I honed my palate and taste for travel by hopping planes with my airline pilot father, spent nearly a year studying in Italy and traveling in Greece, and taught English in Tokyo for three years. My professional background is in traditional and online marketing, where I worked for companies such as Amazon.com, Microsoft, Nordstrom, and eBay. With Foodista.com I have finally found my true passion - immersion in the world of food. I'm also the proud mama of daughter Emery.

Cheers!

I love tea. Actually, I think I prefer it to coffee, but don't tell my fellow Seattleites that or I'll be hung from the nearest Starbuck's. I used to be able to find my favorite teas from Murchie's...

Oh, we dined with such guiltless pleasure last night at La Spiga's Ferragosto event. It was a sweltering hot evening (by Seattle's standards), so we were thankful for the big round table on the airy...

Grilled Tuna With Mango Salsa

I don't know what's better in this dish: the fresh tuna or the mango salsa? The fresh-from-the-sea albacore tuna loin we purchased stayed so moist and tender during grilling, often times a...

I don't usually review products, and generally I'm not one to get suckered into kitchen gadgets, but this product is worth the touting. I've seen Jamie use his Flavour Shaker on his show Jamie At...

I was asked the other night how long you are supposed to cook crab. Good question! I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and have cooked and cleaned plenty of crab, yet I had never considered that it...

Croquettes, or in Spanish croquetas, are small, lightly breaded fritters that are deep fried. A common variety in Spain is the potato and ham croquette, or croquetas de patatas y jamon. Fluffy and...

In Chinese culture the sharing of food with family and friends is an expression of the love they share with one another. One of my favorite types of Chinese cuisine is dim sum. In Cantonese, dim sum...

At 2 a.m. this morning, after a long 4-day sail from Newport, Oregon, we finally pulled our boat into Elliott Bay Marina. I had never been out on the open water and it was a bit unnerving. Not that...

What better way to wrap up Tomato Week than with a B.L.T.? Since all the tomato recipes this week have been vegetarian or vegan, I thought I'd end with a carnivorous bang! Bacon. Nothing goes better...
